Is there a means to use a Polar heart rate monitor's USB InfraRed port
thingy link with a Nokia 6220?

My service provider has a USB IR port and CD for sale, but I already have
the IR 'reader' for my HRM / running watch which is connected to my PC.
(Using Windows XP Home). Instead of spending more money on another
(duplicate?) IR USB, is the Polar USB suitable for the 6220? If so, where
can I get drivers (without having to buy the whole kit from the service
provider)? I did spend quite a bit of time looking for drivers with google
and in www.nokia.com, but could not find anything suitable. The handset
came with Nokia's PC Suite CD, which has been loaded onto the PC but is of
little use until a link can be established......

I also have an n'gage game deck that could be of more use if it could be
connected - but with that one, I should maybe go read the guide......

Does the 6310i (my wife's) need completely different software to the 6220?
Can both (6310i and 6220) use the same version of PC Suite?

    Thanks

I don't think that you will get this up and running with your heart
rate monitor's USB infrared - as it is the drivers that do most of the
work, and there won't be drivers which support your device and the
phone software. May be someone knows better than that though. For
drivers, you can look at places like the Actysis website (a
manufacturer of infrared ports), but ideally you would need to know
the chipset used in your device, and the specific manufacturer should
    provide the drivers.

Again, I am not an expert on PC Suite with different phones, but if
not, you may be better placed to purchase software which does connect
to both. I use Mobius (and yes, i sound like a broken record for
regulars) from LogoManager, and a quick look at their compatibility
lists confirms that the 6220 and 6310i are both supported. The
software is cheap. They also sell infrared ports.
