setting ringtones

is it possible to assign a downloaded ringtone to a contact in my phonebook.

I assume you can do this only for a group, not for a single contact. 6310
did the same and 6230 seems to be the succesor in business class nokia
phones.

I've never actually used a 6230 but I'd assume it works in the same
way as other Nokia phones. You can assign a ring tone to a caller
group but not an individual phonebook entry so you'll need to move the
contact into a group of their own, one not being used for anyone else,
and assign the ring tone to that.

On Series 40 phones, yes.
On Series 60 phones such as the 3650, 7650, 6600 you can set a ringtone
per person as well as per group.
