I read pro's and con's to the 6600, I use Tmobile, and want to change from
my Sony Erickson T610 to the 6600 due to better reception - mainly. I use
B/T a lot so need to stay with this.

As my 1 year plan has not run out, it's a bit expensive to get the 6600, but
am willing to buy it if it works better than the T610.

    Comments?

    Thanks

    Scott

    Hi Scot,
Its a great phone. It does it all ........BUT !!!!!!! It feels like its
the prototype model that Nokia has not quite finished yet.Bit of a
work in progress.I've experianced alot of crashes, freezes and
seriously unexplaineable thingswith this phone. Given the choice
(still got 1 & years on the contract) i would have preffered the P900
    SonyEricson.
    Good Luck

    Hi,

I would half agree NickV. I also have a 6600, for development reason
(I am a J2ME programmer during some of my free time). And also I needed
a smart phone (I use to forgot meetings and dates and anything). I had a
Palm PDA, and a phone. Now I got a kind of all in one.
I would say that the phone is a nice product: applications are not that
bad. The GPRS options are standards. Now the little thing I regret is
that they block the network connection through BT (you can use the
gnubox tool to update the phone DB to be able to do that... but it's a
    kind of hack...)
It has a slot for memory card. One thing to note is that memory card
creates trouble on my phone. I dunno if it comes from the card itself or
the slot, but when I use it (even after formatting it), the 'Ok' and
    'Cancel' button are not responding.
I have written a few j2me application, installed a few games, and it
works perfectly (provided you have the right version of the game for
    this phone)
In conclusion, I would say I don't regret at all my investment, but it
would be nice that the 'bugs' met randomly (looks like a different one
per phone ) disappeared in a future software update.

i've had a 6600 for the past month, upgraded from a 6610. Brilliant
smartphone, nice and chunky with a nice weight to it. Bluetooth to my
pc and ipaq 2210 is simple enough to do. Highly customizable with
wallpapers, tones, themes and 3rd party apps and games. Pop a memory
card in and you can install loads of stuff. Nice big 65k colour
screen. I usually get about 3 days standby with a moderate amount of
    use.

All in all a great smartphone and i wouldn't be without mine!

really depends on what you are going to use it for
if you want to explore its capabilities, you will find it can do an endless
    amount of things
but if you are just going to make calls, stick to something a lot cheaper

Thanks for the replies... looks like I will keep for a few days and send
back, but I'll see how it works and check out to be sure it has the latest
    firmware.
