I know, but the Siemens group is useless. I unlocked it remotely today. Is
there a way to verify without a different sim?

Not really. Aferall, the lock/unlock is to be able to put in another SIM. Find
a freind or business associate with a phone on a different network and see if
you can't "borrow" their SIM to test it out. Basically all you have to do is
insert the foreign SIM and turn on the phone. If the phone doesn't protest, it
hsa sucessfully been unlocked.
All my phones said something to the effect that the SIM restriction is off when
completing the unlocking proceedure.
