#1 | | Guest | Hi ,
I have a Nokia 6230 and seem to have a slight problem with bluetooth. All is
fine until I want to close my bluetooth connection.
Once I have connected to my PC, as I see it there are 2 ways of
disconecting:
- Turn Bluetooth off (it asks you if you want to close any connections):
If I do that then my phone hangs and I have to takethe battery out to
reset it.
- Disconnect the connection, then turn bluetooth off:
If I try that, the connection is closed, but the option to turn bluetooth
off doesn't work. I have to turn the phone off, then back on, then I can
turn bluetooth off.
Just wondered if anyone else had encountered this, and if there was a way
round the avoided re-booting the phone?
TIA
ChrisM

I've had this happen twice in the first few days of owning my 6230. Reboot
is only Solution I know.

I've encountered the hang when turning off bluetooth without first
disconnecting from the PC. However, so long as I disconnect first
it's no problem to turn BT off from the phone.

i'm on my second 6230 in 24 hours
first hung with bluetooth no matter how i tried to disconnect and would then
rebbot itself
second is fine as long as i first close the connection via the pc first
(well so far)
and then disconnect via phone

#5 | | Newbie | This also is my problem.
I notice that whenever the screensaver comes up my download using bluetooth is disconnected whether connected thru phone or handheld device.
I also notice that it easily drains my battery.
A friend of mine tells me that the success rate of having a successful transfer rate depends on the memory the handheld has.

#6 | | Guest | Anyone want to report this to Nokia as a bug?
Do any Nokia employees in the appropriate department read this newsgroup at
all by the way?
If so, can I sneakily slip in a suggestion that you should make a 6230-alike
with 6310i-style keypad. The 6310i was a brilliant phone, such a shame
there's no direct version replacement. Maybe consider putting joysticks into
some of your phones rather than the 5-way button pad - depends on how the
keys are done generally.
