Have tried to install the drivers but the software insists I install Service
Pack1 for XP ?????????????????????????
I really don't want to do this - its flipping crazy that I have to do this
(does SP1 even exist?) I don't even know where to check for this Service
pack (I already have windows update installing patches for me).
I looking on nokia.co.uk for help (hoping to get another version of the
driver) but the nokia site was utterly useless and the support link for the
7610 is broken (and has been for some time- how bad is that!).
Help ?

It's important that you install it to update drivers and address loads of
security issues. Go to control panel, select windows update and that will
take you to the microsoft update site. You then select 'scan for updates'
and it will come up with a list of updates, including service pack 1.

Re: Nokia 7610 with USB Cable drive install trouble
Cheers for the responses.
I had active updates running and thought I was up to date - obviously it
doesn't go off and get whole service packs. I also assumed that as I had
very few updates outstanding (1 actually) it would be a quick job.
It took 2 hours to install (30 mins of this being downloading). All for a
little USB cable driver.....
Thanks all
JJ

You really do need SP1 (with SP2 on the way)!!
Your system will have loads of bugs that need patching and components that
need updating, one of which will be outdated driver files that your 7610
driver will need when updated.
