Did anyone get the following error:
    "app closed"
    and then something like:
"failed to start phone - contact provider"
    ?

I have it in some areas; e.g. Princeton, NJ
Other peoples phone (TMobile) work at the same place, same time.
    My phone works otherwise fine.

Any ideas? TMobile customer service wasn't able to help...

It isn't a network error, dude.

Your handset is crashing. It's because you installed something stupid
onto it and it blew up. Congratulations.

    Please...
First of all I have not installed anything.
Second of all the phone "crashes" only at one specific spot worldwide.
The crash is caused by me physically moving into that small area (downtown
Princeton). I can repeat it every time.

If it happens at only one specific location, call CC back and tell them you
need a service issue filed for that exact location.. Be prepared with
intersections, cross streets, street number, etc...

Have you called Nokia CC Handset technical support and asked them what that
    "means"?

It's an error from the OS of the handset.

Install Fexplorer and get the tower ID's when you make that call, if you
want to be remotely helpful it will actually let them know which tower
you're tethered to when it supposedly crashes your phone.

    You don't know that.

Maybe it reliably crashes there because you're doing something weird
    when you get there.

It's a software failure, not a network one. I don't know what signals
they could be beaming to your handset to make it crash, but I suppose if
you moved the tinfoil off your head and onto the 6600, it may go away.

Re: Nokia 6600 on TMobile (USA) issue

I know that my phone traveled with me to many US towns and 4 countries so
    far.
I didn't have a chance to call TMobile customer service on the spot. Called
them back from a nearby hotel where it worked again. They asked me to call
them from the spot where I have the issue. Hopefully I will be able to this
    the next time.
When the phone is in that state it can't be used, doesn't allow me to access
    anything on it, no menu,...
Simple tricks, like "reseting" it with removing the battery don't help.
