I have no idea why crabby people feel compelled to respond to posts, it
is not like anyone is forcing them.

    To Newbie:

SE t68i is a good phone but, as John Navas said in another thread, has
RF problems. This is even more important when you are traveling in
unfamiliar territory. What good is battery life if your phone can't
    communicate with the tower?

Here are some user reviews for this phone as well as the two Nokias on
    your list:

    http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/use....php?phone=116
    http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/use....php?phone=206
    http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/use....php?phone=165

The same site will have reviews on other models as well. Their jump to"
feature is really convenient, just type whatever you remember of the
    model number.

I think you can't go wrong with the 6610. Best of luck.

So let me get this straight, nokias don't have problems that the newbie
    should concern himself with?

For utmost reliabilty avoid the nokia!

Just to add that the 6610 is exactly the same phone, feature-wise, as the
6100. I owned both but liked the design of the 6100 better. Btw one of both
has radio, the other one doesn't.

And please disregard remarks like "nokia's are ****". That's just plain
bull****. For some very strange reason some people just dislike Nokia. I
have owned many Nokia's, as well as many other makes, and never had any
problems ! The SE T68i might be your best choice tho, feature-wise. A very
    good phone.

    Good luck with your choice.

I agree with the T68i probably being the best choice, feature- and
    cost-wise.

Your remark regarding Nokia's is without any merit. I've owned many Nokia's
and never (never !) had any problems whatsoever.

How is it you apparently seem to know I'm not an Ericsson-user ? It's true
tho, I currently have a SE P900 and Motorola V525 (seem editted to V600).
What's your weapon of choice ? I can safely assume it's not a Nokia

You're on low-grade crack if you'd recommend these SE models over a
Nokia. Real-world experience just says differently.

What is it about usenet that attracts all sorts of crabby individuals?

Nobody is forcing you to read or post anything. I have followed these
threads with interest. Even found one of your posts interesting. But no
"participant" here has to post or even read. All participants here who
are really tired should try a nap instead. (BTW I am a participant too
and it annoys me when you presume to speak for the rest of us.)

What excessive cross-posting? I see no cross-posting to music or food
or literature groups. The guy is going to India, and is considering
cellular phones from Nokia, Ericsson, Motorola, etc, and those are the
groups he is posting to. What exactly is your problem?

Frankly it is posts like yours and avanti's that ruin the groups. I
suggest you take a break and not return until you can manage ordinary
civility. And please do learm to speak only for yourself. Thank you for
    that consideration.

I already mentioned I have a V600, I am getting a bit peed off with it tho,
MPT now will not 'pull' the sms from the phone and the BT audio is
distorted , if only my T39 would work line 2 from the headset, I did
consider just to buy a Nok 6230 but whilst there is a K700 it was a good
enough reason to still avoid the nokia.
Really tho for me I just like a real replacement for the T39, will have to
wait and see what the SE Z500 is like in the flesh.

On Ebay there isn't a whole lot of difference, although just how much a
few dollars matter is admittedly a subjective judgment.

FWIW, SE T68i does have a reputation for RF problems. User reviews I
posted above seem to suggest the same.

That said, I have never even owned it, let alone traveled overseas with
it, so I am not speaking from personal experience.

Wouldn't it be nice to hear form someone who has used both 6610 and
T68i in Europe or Asia, especially in RF challenged areas?!
