Does anyone know of a Symbian OS 60 aplet that just turns off the RF
    on the phone?

It's great to have all these tools, games and features but when you
get on a plane to travel for many hours it blows that you have to turn
off the phone and all the applications as well.

The Pocket PC 2003 allows you to turn off just the phone RF and still
    use the device.

    Suggestions? Thanks in advance...

    Glen

That phone does NOT have a flight-mode, i.e. the RF side of it can't be
turned of separately, not even with software.

    Buy a PDA and/or a Gameboy.

AFAIK the only series-60 Nokia that has flight-mode is the nGage.

    PS.

Even if these phones did have a flight-mode, I definately wouldn't use
them on a plane. Someone sees you playing with a mobile-phone during a
flight, how do they know it's in flight-mode ? Could be quite difficult to
convince the cabin-crew and other passengers, and may lead to an awkward
    situation.

This one has been discussed time and time again. It doesn't really matter
whether you can turn off the RF on the phone or not, the simple fact of
the matter is flight crew don't know and don't care - if they see any
device that even looks like a phone, you will be asked to turn it off, end
    of story.
