to screen or not to screen

I have a 6100 that got water damaged, I got some PCB cleaner and left it for
a bit.

Switched it on yesterday and it all works fine except the screen.

The back light works fine but I have a white line across the corner of the
screen and that's it...

Do you lot think putting a new screen in will bring the phone back to life
or could I be throwing good money after bad ???

water damage is 99.9% of the time, terminal.

get a new phone

Can I not be a 0.01% er
as in the fact the phone works !
as in it still makes and receives calls !

I do have a new phone, I bought one within hours of the accident.
