Uninstalling Apps on Nokia 6600

Do applications have to be uninstalled, or can they just be deleted?

I had an App that wasn't working properly, so I deleted it. When I went to
reinstall it, the phone asked me if I wanted to replace the old version with
the new one.

If they have to be unistalled, how do you do it?

Tools>Manager>select the app to uninstal>options>remove

Some apps may leave files even after removing, you can delete them if you
have a file manager installed, for instance Seleq

If you cannot remove the app via Manager you can delete with Seleq the
entire directory in C: or E: (depends on where the app is
installed)>system>Apps>delete the directory of the app and then
system>install and delete the sys file of the app
