How to remove battery from Nokia 3560?

I simply don't see how to remove the battery from my Nokia 3560. I can
remove the back cover, but the battery is quite snug in its slot. It
certainly does *not* just fall out, even if I turn it over and hit it with
my palm. The instructions say to use the finger-notch in the battery, but
it has no such thing!

Any ideas?

Hi Lawrence

According to the user manual for 3560:

http://downloads.nokiausa.com/userguides/3560.PDF
Page 11

Remove the back cover...
Place Your index finger in the space at the TOP of the battery and lift out
of the phone.

If it's anything like my Nokia, you need to get your finger nail between the
top of the battery and the casing, then with that fingernail push the
battery slightly downwards (towards the base of the phone - where the
charger hole is) and lift.

There is *no* space at the top of the battery at all. It's extremely snug.

No room even for a fingernail, and my fingernails are too short anyway.
Nokia should have stated that "long fingernails are a requirement for proper
maintenance of this phone."

*However*, the battery has two very small, slippery notches on its sides.
Human fingers cannot grasp the battery at those notches, but a large set of
serrated pliers can, and I was finally able to use those to remove the
battery.

Phone designers can be real idiots sometimes.
