I just got a data cable for my 3595. Jerk that sold it to me told me it had
phone book contact management software with it. It does not. He claims you
can download contact management software off the net for free. Even at
Nokia. I can't find any "Free" phone book or contact manager software for
free. Any ideas? Anyone know were I can find something to down load? I
want to put the contacts from my Palm, into the phone. And do it though my
computer. I do not want to hand input 100 plus phone numbers and names!
Open to any suggestions. Thank you. Mike L.

Oddly, your particular model is not listed, even though about 50 models are
covered. Email their tech support and ask why it is not supported.

Re: Phone Book Manager Nokia 3595

Nokia does not actively support external hard-wired data connections
to the 3595, which is why is does not have an external data connector.
That said, a data bus electrical connection is accessible under the
battery for dealers and maitenance techs, but it was never intended
for the end user to access it.

Third-party cables (serial and USB) are available which allow the end
user to access the 3595 data bus; apparently you got one of them. As
you found out, Nokia's own software does not receognize the 3595
(which is not surprising as it is not a supported feature).. There
are a couple of products which do support the 3595, the most prominent
being Oxygen Phone Manager. I am not positive if Oyygen permits
direct synch to a Palm device - you may have to go thru a couple of
intermediate steps; I'm sure Oxygen's tech support can answer that
question for you. There is another popular program called MobiMB but
don't think that will do what you want, either.

I know this didn't answer your issue directly, but maybe the
additional insight will help you out.

    Cheers!

Re: Phone Book Manager Nokia 3595

    ML,

I just found this on Nokia's site.

    ***********************
Your phone has the ability to synchronize its contact list and calendar data
with remote devices. Using the synchronization feature (SyncML), data such
as names, numbers, and e-mail addresses stored in your contact list, or day
notes and reminders from the calendar can be exchanged with other devices
through a synchronization service provider. After synchronization, the data
in the phone will be the same as the data contained in the host database.

Before you can begin to use SyncML, you must verify your service provider
offers this feature. If your service provider does offer SyncML, you must
set up an account with a SyncML service provider. For more information about
signing up for synchronization services, contact your wireless service
    provider.
    ***********************

Go to http://www.nokiahowto.com/index.html and choose your phone. When it
loads, make sure Phone Menu Options is selected, then click on Connectivity
to see how to do it. It can also be done via GPRS.

Personally, I'd get a different phone and make sure it has the data
    connector or Infrared.

    I hope that helps you!

    Hi ML,

This is a slight off-topic to your question, but I am banging my head on
this one problem that I have.
Like you, I too got a data cable over e-bay for my 3595.
However when I try to get the cable in my cell it just won't go.
I did put my battery on the slot and then when I try to push in the
whole thing (keeping the black strip at the back pressed) it just's
won't go. The two small protruding slots are what it seems are blocking
the whole thing from going in.
Did you have to saw off these small black things.
Can you please let me know how you got around getting the cable set for
    you phone?

    Thanks

    Nevermind, I figured it out.
Had to get the whole spring thingy out by removing the screws.
    Working now!
    Thanks anyways.
