Hi,
I bought a Nokia 6230 today and I have imported all my contact through the
PC Suite to the phonebook. My previous phone was a Siemens S55 and when
looking up a contact in the phonebook it would dial the mobile phone entry
by default if multiple number are given. The 6230 however dials the home
number by default and I don't want that. How can I change this behaviour?
Thanks,
Jonathan

Change each and every contact.
Personally, I use seperate contacts eg Bob, Bob Home, Bob Office, as most of
my contacts are single entry mobile numbers, I don't keep that many home
numbers in my phone.

Re: 6230 and default entry in phonebook
change each entry to suit. the default number has a square around it. select
name and then number you want as the default number, then "options" then
"set as default".

Actually with Nokia it is quite easy. The first number you enter is always the
default. But if you go to a name in your address book and select details.
Once in the detail menu select the number that you want to be the primary
number. Then select options and scroll down to "As Primary Number".
Once you have set the appropriate choice whenever you select the name and press
send, that is the number dialed.
If you want to dial the other numbers for that entry, find the name, select
Details and scroll to the appropriate number (Home, office, etc....)
Hope that helps!

I transfered all my data from my Siemen to the Nokai through Outlook so I
guess the Nokia assumed the home numbers as default. It's a bit of a hussle
but I'll do. I thought maybe it would be possible to define a default for
everything. I guess not.
Thanks anyway!
