I've worked my way through the Nokia site for the 9500 and can't find any
explicit answers to a couple of things...

Does the 9500 have a full featured calender and alarm application?

Can the 9500 be used as a dumb terminal via a RS232 connection?

    Thanks,

Yes it does, one of each.

The 9500 has a fullfeatured Calendar and Alarm/World clock
application but no RS232 connection, only the USB port.

    Cheers,
