6260 - non-functioning sms-shortcutkey

Hi there,

I have a problem with the sms-shortcutkey on my nokia 6260. When I press the
key, nothing happens. I dont yet know if this a factory error or if there is
some hidden function in the menus, which I should use to assign the function
to the key - haven't been able to find it though.

Any solutions?

Does the key work for other uses? If not it's probably dead.
You can assign other fonctions to the key but the function is the
displayed above it. Maybe try to assig the key to something else and see
if it works...

Yes, thats also what I thought. Either the key is dead or I'll just have to
assign the key to another function to check, if it does the same with the
other functions as well. But as I also asked in my original post - how to -
if possible - assign new functions to the key?

You'll find that under the settings (sorry my phone's in French so I
dont know how they call the menus in English).
Anyway it should be something like Settings > Phone > sleep mode.
