I bought the 6680 several weeks ago, and I'm very happy with it (after the
    firmware-update) . . .

The initial firmware, 2.04.15, has an annoying bug: when saving your
    messages on your MMC-card,
the messages will be deleted automatically without knowing it!
When opening pictures in your gallery from your MMC-card, to open a folder
    is very slowly!

This week I updated my firmware to 3.04.11; the messages-bug I haven't got
    yet, and opening folders
in your gallery is slightly faster!

I discovered a problem when restoring all data back to my 6680 after the
    firmware-update:
When I did go to the SILENT-profile, my 6680 crashed completely and I got
    the message
"contact operator"! The phone did nothing anymore, because the self-test was
    failing!
I solved this by removing the SIM-card, started my GSM again in the
    OFFLINE-profile,
inserted my SIM-card again, then changed the profile to NORMAL.

I went back to the store and told them about this problem, they reflashed my
    6680 again,
    and now it's OK!

I don't know if the problem was PC-Suite 6.5, or the primary flashing didn't
    go ok . . .
After the 2nd reflash, I restored only my contacts, and re-installed all
    other programs!

Previous I had the 6600, but the 6680 I find a little bit better!

    Correction on my previous mail:

the SMS-bug is STILL in this firmware: when saving your messages on the MMC,
    on occasion the
messages will be deleted without prompting it!

I don't know a solution for this yet, but I hope someone of Nokia is also
    reading these messages!
    This is a VERY ANNOYING BUG ! ! ! :-(

I think that problem is not in firmware, it happends only with original MMC
so the problem is in supplied MMC

    That's very strange! How's that possible ?

Sow: when I use another RS-MMC, this problem will NOT occur ?

No, I didn't notice any problem with non default MMC's...

As I said, it known issue, essentially it happens with multimedia content
to I mean you can loos all of your images or videos so be very careful with
    it.

It happened to me twice, first time it ended with corrupted MMC and second
time I get my images back after putting MMC into card reader...

    Also chk this out:

    Hope this helps,

    Re: Nokia 6680

i know there has been alot of stipulation about this but can the nokia
6680 be unlocked from the "3" network?

Some suggested flashing it so i got in touch with a nokia service
centre and they said flashing the phone does not remove the sim lock,
is that true or do they have to say that?

I have spen days searching for solutions on the internet but to no
avail, market traders and specialists claim the software is not
available at the moment, a guy i spoke to yesturday said traders have
been fobbing customers off with "no software yet but it is expected in
next few weeks, but that has been said for the past 9 months" (also
    applies to nokia 6630)

I have a brand new one locked to "3" which i bought off ebay for a
bargin of £132 but need to put my o2 sim in it.

If anyone here has any insight please let me know.

    Kind regards

    Craig
