Bought an adopter from Cingular with a 2-1/2mm plug and plugged in a
headset, but when attempt to open the FM radio receive the window "plugin
    headset."

Put the adopter and headset on a friend's 6230 and it worked fine. Could
there be a difference in the pins used in the 6230 as opposed to the 6260
or do I just have a faulty phone or is there another setting? (I see on
ebay stereo phones which are listed to operate both 6230 and 6260 and
    others.)

For anyone's info who is interested: Found a headset that works with the
6260. Was walking by a Sprint store and went in and they had Nokia
stereo headsets for phones PM5225 & PM3205 (I don't know what the PM
signifies, presumably related to Sprint's part numbering system. This
headset has 9 pins & cost $30 as opposed to the $3 attachment which had 3
or 4 pins and didn't work with the 6260. The only trouble with this
headset is the phones are too large to stick into my ears and remain
there! Perhaps they make some kind of an earmuff these will fit into,
although the box shows them simply sticking into a man's ears?

Had a friend in Hong Kong call one of Nokia's "professional centres" and
was told that the Nokia Adapter AD-15 was available for about US$50.
This an obnoxious price for a little adopter with about a 9 inch cord to
act as an antenna to pick up FM radio and on the other end an earphone
3-1/2mm plug. So I emailed Nokia HKG and was told that they do not sell
it in HKG! Perhaps the store just happened to have one! And it isn't
sold in the USA either. And Nokia GB will not deal with anyone outside
of GB, and Nokia Finland is in Finish.

Guess what Nokia is trying to say is that they don't want Nokia 6260
owners to use it for FM radio. In that case, I'm switching to Motorola
unless someone knows where one of these could be purchased (tried eBay
    and didn't find it).
