Hi,
I have a nokia 5510.
I have a USB data cable.
I installed the cable, it's been registered on COM port 3 (as a USB
prolific driver).
When I start Oxygen, it says the phone is not found.
I tried with the phone on and off, but the result is the same.
Is there any solution?
Thanks
Dario

Yes, but you may not like the sound of it. I have spent many hours
installing and investigating 'so-called' Nokia datacables. The bottom line
is that they are unreliable at best. You will save yourseld hours if not
days of grief by getting the real deal.
The cable you need is a Nokia DKE-2. It will install without a problem.
Check on eBay for item number 5799271141 Currently the guy has some for
sale @ £4.99

Re: Oxygen problem: phone is not found
I looked at the item. but it seems to be the AUDIO TRANSFER cable, that
I already own.
The question now isa: Can I use this cable with Oxygen?
Correct me if I'm wrong, and thanks for any hints.

Re: Oxygen problem: phone is not found
I confirm that I own the Nokia. DKE-2 cable.
I downloaded Oxygen BUT in the connection wizard the DKE-2 cable is not
mentioned.
Can you head me on the right way? Do I have to use another software?
Thanks!!

I will make further enquiries, but the DKE-2 does look promising. I suspect
you do need to use a Com port emulator, but I bet they are easy to find. I
will look and get back to you.

Thanks, but if you look at the description you will find this:
For use with: Nokia 5510 MP3,..........
So with 5510 model, this cable is only used for uploading MP3 in the
integrated card.
I think I'll try with another cable.
Thanks!!

Oxygen problem: phone is not found
Nokia 5510 doesn't have any official cable for data synchronization and this
phone's mini-USB port isn't anyhow physically connected with the phone
section itself. You can connect this phone in our program only using
unofficial cable, which connects to technological contacts under the phone's
battery (you can see them if your remove the battery ).
The size of technological plug is the same as for Nokia 3310/3315/3330
mobile phones, however as per our information, not all Nokia 3310/3330
cables are compatible with Nokia 5510. You can determine this by tests only.
PS: technological cable connection voids your phone's warranty.
If you have any questions and/or suggestions, concerning our
program, feel free to post them on our official forum
