Just wondering if anyone else out there has had this one yet.

I remain impressed with my 6680....but....

I've discovered a new bug (other than the random crashing that it does
anyway) that's linked to my Nokia CK-1W advanced carkit (bluetooth
connection). With my previous phone (6310i) I could automatically dial
the last number called by pushing the button on the handsfree twice in
a quick succession. I've not been able to get the 6680 to do this so
far(I'm guessing due to it's fairly slow response to anything versus
the 6310i), so I had a play around today. I've now found that pushing
the button a few times in quick sucesssion causes the 6680 to restart
(i.e. go through the whole off and on cycle), which is a bit of pain in
the ar$e to be honest - especially when the voice tags on the 6680 are
almost useless compared to other phones I've had so aren't much of a
substitute. Looks like the bluetooth stack in this phone is just as
flakey as in previous nokia bluetooth incarnations.

If anyone else has seen this I'd be interested, as at least I'd know
its not just my phone then!

Firmware 3.04.35 12-05-05 RM-36, so not quite the latest - but I'd be
surprised if version .37 is much different to this.

    Cheers,
    G

    Re: Nokia 6680 bluetooth crash

I'm in the same boat - upgraded from 6310i to 6680 and I agree
-"flakey implementation" is an understatement. My Jabra BT250 keeps
disconnecting and reconnecting to the 6680. I did find out the pushing
the button on the handset and holding it pushed for about 3 seconds
does redial the last number. However, I can't get the voice tags to be
invoked from the nadset like I was able to do on the 6310i.

I guess you and I (and many others) are on the bleeding edge of
technology here, being the guinea pigs for the Nokia engineers. The
only difference is that guinea pigs usually don't have to pay $$$ to
    become ones...

    Re: Nokia 6680 bluetooth crash

At least I'm not alone in that - some minor relief! I have the same
problem with my Plantronics bluetooth headset; push and hold used to
invoke the voice dial with my 6310i (and every other bluetooth enabled
phone it was used with), but it does absolutely nowt with the 6680. It
is good to hear that it isn't an isolated incident though. I'll try
pushing and holding the button as you suggest, at least it's a half-way
    measure!

Bleeding edge it is indeed. Roll on the firmware updates!

    Re: Nokia 6680 bluetooth crash

My (in)firmware version is the latest (3.04.37), so don't bother to
upgrade to this one...let's wait for the next one.
