I'm looking for a mobile phone that switches itself on automatically
for example to check voicemail or texts. It would be extra useful if it
could do this according to a schedule similar to how my home heating
system operates according to a schedule by switching itself on in the
evening and switching itself off at night.
I also prefer this sometimes because I do not have the phone switched
on yet would like to keep in touch every couple of hours (e.g. saves on
having to charge it / "radiation" worries / not wanting to be
constantly, rather than infrequently, disturbed in meetings etc).

You can use timed profiles on a Nokia, some of the newer phones have
flight mode or off line mode where they basically turn the phone line
off preventing incoming and out going calls.
Just set the timed profile to expire at a certain time, when the time
expires your phone will revert to the previous profile.
Forget the radiation ****, it is the biggest load of **** every dreamed of!

Re: Mobile Automatically Switches On/Off Itself?
Timed profiles sound interesting if limited. I think I might need to
use a smarter phone like a Blackberry 7100 which allows for proper
scheduling of wake up and turn off, sorry Nokia
Switching to silent mode sounds good if it could be more automatic e.g.
knows from my scheduler that I am in a meeting.
