Hi,
I bought a new Nokia 6600 mobile last week. it is coming with 64 MB mmc
card. I like to go for higher memory card.. I would like to have 512 MB
to 1 GB memory card..
My friends and nokia dealers are telling me that if i go for 512 MB or
1 GB card, my phone is half dead.. which means the performance will
slow down..
I really confused here.. Why it is like that.. I can't agree with them,
technically at OS level, there should be any problem with respect to
the memory size..
The speed may be slow down based on the program we use or the operation
it performs..
Suppose If I go for 1 GB card, it is possible to optimise the
performance.. I think, we have store files into more folders to imrpove
the performace.. this will eliminate the more number files scanning..
Please put your pros and cons here..
Thanks & Regards,
Gopal

Re: MMC memory size and performance issue
Takes longer to boot the phone when you have a lot of apps installed but
that's only with a cold boot.
I've got 512MB on mine and it runs fine but then again the 6600 is a really
slow phone, have a look at the speed difference between the 3650 menus and
the 6600. I doubt you will see much of a speed difference between the 64MB
and 512MB MMC's. I'd go for a 512MB MMC over a GB on price and the fact
that the new MMC's are a lot faster than the phone can access and most new
phones use RSMMC's instead now so you have little chance of using it on new
model.
