Nokia Problem

I have a Nokia 6600 and yesterday when I started it up "General System
Error" came up.

The phone loads rather slowly and then this appears.

Is there any way to recover my SMS Messages and Photos stored on the phone?
As some of them were from my ex-wife who past away 9 mths ago. I haven't
touched the phone since in hopes of recovering the data but no one has been
able to so this is a last resort.

Does anyone know if it's possible to recover the messages/data?

If the memory is use in the message u can recover it, but if u use
phone memory in mssg. u cn't recovery, b'cuz general system eror is a
hard software problem. try to reformat wid soft reset or refrogram to a
new version.. to soft reset use *#7370# it ask security code w8 5-10
mins.
the phone back to its old version...
maybe it will help.... but u can't recover the msg data if phone memory
in use.

Get yourself a bluetooth dongle for your PC, then use the free Nokia
software which came with the phone or you can download it from
www.nokia.co.uk - it's called PC Suite. This will make a backup of the
texts along with everything else.

If the texts are to be preserved then I would suggest forwarding them to
another handset and also backing that up to a PC.
