6680 losing network connection

I've got a 6680, and on two occasions in the last week, it appears to lose
network connection. Meter still shows signal strength, but I can't make or
receive calls. The signal symbol also flashes. The first time, I rebooted
the phone which cured it. The second time, I switched to 'Offline' profile,
then back to 'General', which sorted it. Is this a known problem / bug?

It's in 'Duel' network mode, although there's no Vodafone 3G coverage in our
town. And both times, it happened in our town. It seems to happen when the
signal was low, eg walking into shops. It's like it loses the GSM signal,
then can't get it back.

I've got no interest for 3G at the moment - Not until it improves a great
deal - But it's nice to see how 3G coverage is developing, so that's why
it's in duel mode and not gsm only.

I might try switching to SInlge mode, but it's not very good if I can't use
a 3G phone in 3G mode!

Cheers, Matthew

I had a similar problem with my Orange N70. When I spoke to Orange, they
suggested switching to GSM and that cured the problem of making and
receiving calls, This was during a week when they lost 3G coverage in the
area I was visiting daily.

It seems that the problem is not resticted to Vodafone.

If it keeps doing it, I think I'll switch to GSM for the time being!

The phone may be picking up a very weak 3G signal - not strong enough to
make/receive calls.

I would fix the phone to 2.5G until there is better 3G coverage in your
area.

Hope this helps.

Yea, if it does it again, I think I'll do that!

Cheers!
