My phone is a 6680, which I've had since February. Very pleased with it,
apart from a couple of things - Mainly 2 bugs.
3g is only starting to happen in my area. I don't really have a need for it.
But I did originally have my phone on dual mode. But it seems to be a common
bug, that after a few days of being switched on, and in weak / non
3g
coverage, the phone will stop transmitting / receiving anything. The only
way to cure this is to switch to Offline mode, then back to Online, or do a
power cycle - Or just leave it locked on 2g. But that's not really very good
if it's a
3g phone, and it's nice to see
3g coverage progressing.
Second bug is when writing a text message. I often put '!?' - This often
crashes the phone. My software version is v4.04.07 (22-08-05)
I see that the latest software version is v5.04.07 (15-02-06) and it
addresses the bug in writing an sms with predictive text. But does anyone
know if it sorts the
3g bug out?
Also, would any Nokia service centre reflash my phone with Nokia's original
version? I understand it would probably invalidate my warranty with
Vodafone? If so, how much would it likely to cost extra?
