nokia 6230 "ok" button not selecting positivly

the "ok" select button on my 6230 is not making a positive "on" or "off"
choice when i push the "ok" button eg. i am trying to turn "on" my bluetooth
but it goes to "off" all the time now and i can't access my bluetooth. i
have a number of pics that i can't replace so i was hoping to transfer them
to my computer before i send the 6230 to a nokia service centre if i can't
get the "ok" button to work properly.

That sometimes happens to my 6230, but only affects the bluetooth on
selection. I'll try to use the bluetooth and suddenly find it has
turned itself to off. No matter how many times I try to turn it on, it
still remains off.

It is not the button, rather it seems to be some fault in the firmware.
The only fix I have found is to take out the battery and leave it out
long enough for it to loose the time and date, a matter of a minute or
so, then putting it back together.

I also have an occasional problem with the backlight failing to shut
off, which rapidly discharges the battery.

All you will loose is the time and date - everything else is retained
including all your settings, photos and etc..
