    Hi all
I took my N80 to a nokia repair centre in Cramlington. I asked if they could
flash my phone with the latest firmware. No problem, sit and wait it will
take me 15 mins. Free I asked. Yes under the Nokia warrantee. No problem. I
sat and almost 50 mins later a woman popped her head around the counter and
said. Well we tried to do it and it froze. They removed the old firmware and
half way through installing the new version it froze.
At Cramlington they say they are a level Two repairer. The Phone has a
faulty chip and it needs to be shipped to a level 4 dealer and the repair
    will be at "their cost."

That's what I could not understand. "their cost"? If its just a flash update
and the chip in no good, are they just fobbing me of as they have cooked a
    chip?

Has anyone else had this problem?
If its common I know sites that you can down the latest firmware and do it
yourself. I'm glad I left it to them. Well up to now anyway.

Nokia don't release firmware updates to the public. Their service
centres are the only ones who have access, and obviously if they stuff
it up then they will have to fix it.
