Hello,
I have a few questions on using the keypad for writing text and the
various keys/symbols.
I know the following:
Pressing a specific key several times will scroll to the letter/number
I want.
Pressing the # key will toggle between capital or lower case lettering.
Pressing the * key will bring up various symbols to insert.
Pressing the O key for a space.
Plus key "*+" is used with the calculator.
Pressing, clear key deletes previous letters...
Q:Key: Number "1" key has a "1oo" , what is the oo symbol used for?
Q: Key: "O X _ " Zero, Cingular Symbol, Bracket...., what is the
Cingular Symbol, Bracket used for?
Q: Key: "^ #" the up arrow and #, what is the up arrow used for?
Also, any other key usage (or combo key use) will be of help...
Finally, when typing a message I would get an underline/bracket under
letters and it would also not start with the first letter in a key
which was pressed? By playing around with the various keys I got it
to disappear? Q: What is this all about? (I have the predictive text
turned off)
Thanks,
Skipper/Sy

This symbol refers to a "tape recorder", voice mailbox in this context. You
can set your voice mailbox number on this quick dial key, then "press and
hold" #1 key and you get connected. Also reads in the manual, p.23.

I think this was mentioned earlier, press and hold 0-key and you get
connected to your web browser's home page (in case of Cingular, this
probably is predefined by your operator). This appears on the manual page
57.

Don't have this on my phone, perhaps this is for web-browser, didn't find it
from the manual either (doesn't mean it would not be there)

You must have had predictive text on and had it then turned off (can be
turned off in different ways, with the #-key too.

Re: Nokia 6030 Text Messaging
Thank You Anonymous,
Brief Reply-
a) I know that when I hold down the #1 key it goes to voice mail. Also,
I now
know that the "oo"symbol is for voice mail.
b) I know that when I hold down the "O" key it goes to Device Home/
Cingulars Media Net Home... which has many good things to access..
c) It is not that important now for me to learn what the :"up arrow" is
used
for on the last key ("^#"). Also, the up side down bracket on the "O,
Cingular Smbol, Bracket" key.
Tx,
Skipper/Sy
