Nokia 9300 Email issue...only get one email per connection

Just got a new Nokia 9300. I have got everything pretty much working
on it except for one thing...

When I try to download my emails, (I have it set to only initially
download the email subject heading and the name of the sender), it
tells me its downloading my 13 emails or whatever it happens to be at
the time. It downloads the first one and then claims it is downloading
the 2nd but no matter how long you wait for it to download the next one
(normally a 2k file) it doesn't!

What is interesting however is if you cancel and then ask the phone to
retrieve your messages again. It connects to the email account and
then downloads the next email and then sits and looks like it is
downloading the next email but never does.

Repeating the above will allow the 3rd email to come down no problem!
You can see this is a bit of a nightmare if you have a few emails to
look at. Can anyone advise me?

The internet on the phone works well and sending emails is working too
so I am really puzzled by this.

Do you have access to the mail servers log files?
Have you tried with some other mail server and see how it works there?

Yes, I can access the same emails from my laptop and gmail without any
problem so I know the fault does not lie with the mail server.

Do you have access to the mail log at the mail server to where you tried to
connect with your phone?

Have you tried to access another e-mail account (on another mailserver) with
your phone?


These things helps to find out what may be wrong.
