I did not mean that WCDMA service is not available in China, instead I've
understood it is not allowed to sell a phone that supports WCDMA (generally
a technology that has not been approved there) in China. Can anybody confirm
this, or prove otherwise?
I guess they would need to allow visitors to bring their UMTS phones when
roaming. A Chinese businessman could perhaps by one for himself but not from
China, I assume (to clarify). Not claiming that a WCDMA phone could not be
useful for him, perhaps more of that in Japan.
