I currently have the nokia BH-600 headset and am using it with my old
6100 model phone. The bluetooth functionality is not native to this
phone so I am using the AD-5B adapter fitted to the pop-port.
However now I have found that the user friendlyness of this setup is
too limited. The keypoints points being that I cannot answer an
incoming call by pushing the headset button, I must push the green
answer key on the phone. Also when connected with the adapter, the
phone automatically switches to the car mode and directs the ringing
tone to the headset. So if the headset is not in my ear, I don't know
there is an incoming call, the phone will not ring or vibrate, only the
display will light up. This means if the phone is in my pocket, I miss
the call. Auto-answer does work OK, but then I still don't know there
is a call, so the caller can hear my activities but I don't know there
is a call.
My question is, does a phone such as the E60 have a more user friendly
implementation of bluetooth? Can I still have the phone ring and/or
vibrate to alert me to an incoming call so that I can then put the
headset to my ear and push the heaset button to receive the call?
Ideally the phone will never need to be removed from my belt case.
If not, can anybody recommend a phone that supports this functionality
better? I've heard that the Sony-Erickson models support bluetooth
better than Nokia so I may need to switch brands, although I am a
lifelong Nokia user so that will be a last resort.
Any feedback on these questions will be appreciated.
