Connecting Nokia 6230i to Computer (plan: Nokia phonebook -> PC -> Blackberry)

Hello -

I'd like to connect a Nokia 6230i handset to a computer in order to
download the numbers stored on handset itself (not the SIM card). My
actual intention is to use the Nokia PC suite (see
http://www.nokiausa.com/support/pcsuite/download.html ) to transfer the
phonebook to a PC, and from there to another phone - a blackberry
actually. I've tried transferring the phonebook via bluettoth, and
although the blackberry and the nokia phone are able to communicate,
the blackberry keeps telling me that no numbers have been transferred,
and indeed none has. I wonder if only the only numbers a blackberry
attempts to read are the ones on the SIM card, which by the way, is
empty.

Because the computer does not have a bluetooth or infrared adapter, the
obvious guess is that I need to physically connect the Nokia phone with
some cort of cable. What kind of cable do I need? Are there any other
alternatives?

Thanks,

- Olumide

The blackberry's are not good with bluetooth, the 8700 and 7130 are
audio-only bluetooth. The pearl has object push so you can swap files
but not phonebooks.

There are alternatives, namely a bluetooth dongle for your PC. This
won't be as restrictive as a Nokia dedicated data cable.

Use PC Suite to sync your Nokia with your PC, then sync the blackberry
to the PC using the supplied cable.

Its a laptop, and there is no other adapter besides the LAN adapter .
Besides, there is no Bluetooth icon or anything of the sort in the
control panel (its a WinXP machine).

What was wrong with the earlier suggestion to use BT with a USB dongle (the
BT icon is not an issue, drivers will come with the BT USB dongle and you'll
get the icon then). Do you mean you have an XP laptop without a USB
interface? What about PCMCIA?

The USB cable is another option but again you have to have a USB slot.
