I have a nokia 6234 and its locked to the sim I bought with it, I would like
to be able to use it to with my other sim which is by another service
operator... what do I do? any ideas?

Call your service provider/operator and ask then to unlock the phone.
They may charge you for the service.
There is no other alternative.

Yes there is, you can take it to any phone shop that deals Nokia and
they'll open it there. It should cost £10 or so in the UK which is
equivalent of the UK subsidy.

Not true, never seen anyone except the network be able to unlock a BB5
nokia phone.

I was told this directly when I bought my phone and enquired about
unlocking it. Whether the shop contacts Nokia about unlocking it is
another matter.
