(Yet another) Pc Suite Problem

I've just bought a new PC, running Vista Home Premium. I've downloaded
and installed the latest version of PC Suite for my N90. When I run
connection manager I select connect via USB and Windows then
recognises that the phone is connected. But when I try to do a BACKUP
a box pops up saying "Connection lost please re-try"- but the taskbar
still shows that the phone is connected. I've tried Control Panel/
repair, tried un-install/re-install and rebooting with the phone
connected. I'v tried 2 different USB leads and have verified that
there is no problem with the USB port as it transfers music to and
from my MP3 plyer with no problem.
Am I missing something or am I another victim of Nokia's ****ware?
Any help much appreciated.

I would suspect a firewall issue. If I connect my phone, or my GPS, via
USB, my VPN drops, with an error message about changing TCP routes.

Oh, dear, you've never suffered with Motorola software have you? Or the
lack of features in a three year old PCSuite. The current one is a thing
of beauty. It's Vista causing problems with it's crippling of most
connectivity in the interest of poorly designed security.
