Hi - I have a new handset via Vodafone and I have a curious problem with the
Maps. It's to do with the colours, the sea isn't shown in blue - it's the
same colour as the land mass. You might think that this is a trivial
problem, but I live on an island with poor lighting and could do with the
    better definition.
I wondered if anyone else has come across this problem and, if so, how did
    the get round it?
I tried deleting the maps and reinstalling them vis Nokia Map Loader, no
    joy.

    Fingers crossed,

    Colin

after a few clicks but when you zoom back in it goes light green again ODD

Even more of a problem is searching for a address like postcodes BN15 9DP
its a pub in Lancing W sussex or try the london post code N16 you end up at
a address in BN1 5 or N1 6 which are miles from where you want to be

Further to this - my last phone was the N95 and the maps were fine on this.
Seems to suggest some sort of software conflict with the 8GB model? I am
currently waiting to hear from Nokia Customer services about this.
    Colin.
PS ~ I'm glad it's not just me!

    Eureka!!!
Problem solved. I went to settings and allowed access to network (even
though I didn't want it or need it). Lo and behold, the sea and other bodies
of water went back to blue. I have since disabled network access but the sea
has remained blue. Guess I know what to do if it happens again...
    For now,

    Re: N95 8GB

Just been out having left it on connect to network as needed and it says
"cant find network check options" or something like that when I was out you
just click OK as you did before when it told you you had connection off
Its much quicker finding the sats now to so it must have updated something

Did you have maps pre-loaded with the Nokia Map Loader?

I don't allow access to the network either. I just grabbed the map
loader from Nokia's website and downloaded the surrounding region, and
    I'm good to go.

Interesting. So they kill 3.5 gigs on the 8 gig for the full world, or
only for the continent you bought the phone from?
