Sending SMS via computer


with my old motorolla phone i used to be able to attach it to my pc and
using the motorlla software send sms using the pc keyboard

is anything similar available for nokia phones particularly the n95?

The Nokia PC Suite (free) does that for my 6126

BUT it seems to send only multi-media messages??

can i send a plain sms using the pc suite?

Click the envelope icon, labeled "Create and send text messages", on
the PC Suite main menu.

You can also try Oxygen Phone Manager II for Symbian OS phones or Symbian
SMS Manager. They will help you to send SMS from PC easily. Our site is

Don't forget that Nokia PC Suite is free, but you have to pay for
Oxygen Phone Manager, and even then its restricted to working on only
one phone.

The number of phones you are allowed to use in Oxygen Phone Manager II for
Symbian OS phones or Symbian SMS Manager depends on your license type.

over Nokia's freeware? Why /would/ someone pay for a 3rd party app as
