I'm on my Second mains charger which is now acting up and second car
charger. The problem is that the charger doesn't connect to the phone
properly and I have to press it in hard and wriggle it around until I see
it charging. Often I'll put the phone on charge over night and find it
hasn't charged fully when I next check. Anyone else having these problems
and know a way around it?
I went to the shop I bought it from and was told it is a known issue with
Nokia phones. All Nokia phones use the same charger connected via that
micro plug which gives problems. I asked him if there was a charger
available that could charge the battery directly, the idea being to have
two batteries, one in the phone and the other on charge, but, was told
that unlike other phones Nokia don't do that set up. Anyone heard of a
third party charger that will charge the Nokia BP-6M battery?
It's an excellent phone otherwise and it seems such a waste to ditch a
phone that costs that amount for the sake of this Micky Mouse charger
connector.

Can you confirm battery number?
Your email bounces.
My battery is a BP-4L for which there is a USB
desktop charger, and I've just ordered 2 batteries,
very cheap, (said ? to be genuine Nokia with
hologram and have charging protection) At the
price I can take a chance. Nokia manual
says how to recognise fake batteries by
a dodgy hologram, we'll see.
Maybe there is a similar charger to yours,
email me if your batterty number is 4L it
doesn't seem to be recognised.

Unfortunately you didn't provide the phone model nbr. I have a "desktop
charger" that works with BL-4C for a NOK6260. I bought it in Thailand
and the company website is www.advtech.co.th. Their website is in Thai,
not English, and it reads that they make chargers for For Nokia 3310,
5110, 6101, N70, 7360, 6103, 8600, 6500, and in all probability they
also work on several other models. The power cord is a BS 110-220V ,
50-60Hz, AC 80mA, output DC 5-9V, Max 500 mA
I've never had difficulty with this charger, nor with a 2nd party car
charger or wall to phone charger. Perhaps the difficulty only relates
to the phone model you have? Why don't you call Nokia in your country?
And you might check on eBay where millions of accessories are listed,
most of which are out of Hong Kong, GB, and the USA.

Sorry, but, I suspend that specially created email address to stop spam
and only activate it by arrangement and then only for a very short while.

It's the Nokia 6234. From what I was told all Nokia phones use the same
micro plug connector for charging. I'm giving up on the chargers, I'm
looking for a charger to charge the battery directly when it is out of the
phone.

That's what this advtech charger is, a separate unit that you put the
battery into for charging. The power cord to the charger was bought
separately or came with the charger, I don't recall. It plugs into the
charger via a hole which is identical to one in the phone.
Have you yet checked with Nokia Company in the country where you are who
may be able to resolve your difficulty.

Re: Nokia Charger Connection Problems
Hello,
Once I found a very small stone or similar hard grain in the bottom of the
charger connector, preventig the plug from making proper contact. I had to
find magnifier, proper light and had to form a small hook of a needle to
get the small particle out. After the operation charging the phone was no
problem.

LOL...I too have finally resolved the issue after I found I couldn't get
the plug in at all. Over time micro dust had got into the hole and after
cleaning it out with a high tech tool, a needle, it now connects properly
and also now charges fully.
Thanks for all suggestions and I think I'll still follow up those out of
the phone battery chargers as they could be very convenient.
