    Hi,

I just bought a nokia e71 and when configuring default email client I
was forced to install "Nokia Email" application. I was quite surprise
to find out that this will come with an extra cost of 2.99 Euros per
month on top the mobile internet service...

Any alternative for a FREE push mail client (preference for battery
    saving).

    thanks,

    PA

That is odd, I have an N79. I installed it and there was no charge.

As it happens there are three ways of doing email on a Nokia and they all
    work: -

    1. Nokia email.

    2. Email under the messaging menu.

    3. Web / mobile email from your provider.

Nokia email is the most usable, and things like auto fill in of recipients
work properly. Not push, but will check regularly on a schedule and notify
of new mail. Continues to run in the background.

Email under the messaging menu is next best. Not quite as versatile as
Nokia email, but if you are out of coverage (e.g.on the tube) the messages
are downloaded and can viewed off line.

My mail provider is BT. Their [free] mobile email application is OK, but
not as good as Nokia's, plus you have to do validation each time you start
    it.
