I use it all the time - especially when I'm using the phone while driving.
It's far less distracting than dialling numbers or using the phonebook.
(Yes, I do use a headset when I use the phone in the car.)

I was really asking about voice dialling straight off through the phone
with no headsets or anything though I guess these are all valid points.
I'm looking forward to getting a Bluetooth compatible Nokia (upgrade
from 7650, so I'm thinking 6600) which I could possibly use voice
dialling with.

And like I was wondering, the voice tags are probably stored as PCM
files in phone RAM which would take up a good few Kb, wouldn't you
rather see that memory as space for Java games, text messages,
pictures, ringtones, etc.?

Nope, I'd rather have a phone that maximises its usefullness as a
phone

My phone doesn't have Java and I don't keep text messages all that long (if
I cared I'd forward them as emails so that I could store them on a floppy
disk). Ringtones are cool but voice dialling to me seems the best use for
the space. Then again, I'm not the typical trendy cell phone user. My
phone has a (gasp) monochrome display!
