    Hello,

I have a Nokia 3650 locked to AT&T Wireless in the USA.

I am trying to unlock my phone, but I have a problem:

I noticed that the codes generated by the website
http://www.unlocksmith.co.uk/ and the one on the software by "The Mole" are
slightly different. Which one should I use?

Also, another thing. I tried to unlock my phone using the software and
entered in 2 codes. The problem was that I didn't fully read the
instructions and didn't take out my SIM when I tried it (stupid me). Do
these 2 attempts count against my 5 total even though I hadn't taken out the
    SIM?

What happens if I use up all 5 tries, what recourse do I have?

    Thanks,
    David

    Also interesting to note:

If I set the software by "The Mole" to type I, then the code generated
exactly matches the one at the website.

Hope this will help in answering my quesiton. Thanks for reading my mail,
and I would be very grateful to the person who responds.

Not really Mole's fault. There are two versions of the calculator, use
version 2 and you should be OK.

    Re: Software vs. Remote Unlock???

I have a Nokia 3650 locked to AT&T Wireless in the USA. I'm using version
    2.1 of the software.

Where it asks for "Phone Type" should I check "Auto" or pick between "Phone
v1" or "Phone v2." I have noticed if I leave it on "Auto" it is exactly
the same as "V2." However, I have also noticed if I do v1, it's the same
code that it gives me on the website at http://www.unlocksmith.co.uk/ .

    Which one is correct?

Also, suppose I unsuccessfully attempted to unlock my phone 5 times, what do
    I do?

    Thanks for your time. :-)

Your phone is a 3650 and therefore DCT4 mode 5.

Just use calculator version 2, but bear in mind that there can be problems
using calculated codes with some phones, and given the amount of 3650's we
keep being sent from the States locked to AT&T, form your own opinion.

The only option then is to get it unlocked by cable.

    No problem, HTH.

As far as I am aware Auto or V2 is the latest dongle, though whether that
does every phone remains to be seen (ie Virgin locked).
The website I linked to does (from what I read V1 codes) as will the sw if
you select V1 rather than auto.
When I tried the sw, it generates the exact same V2 codes on auto as it does
    on my Data One clip.

    Re: Software vs. Remote Unlock???

Once you use up all your tries at the SIM's PIN #, you get a few tries at
    the PUK #.

    What exactly does this mean?

Does it mean that after I use up my 5 tries I need a cable to do the
    SIMunlock?

Or does it mean that after 5 tries, my phone will be locked out (unusable),
and I need a cable to service it?

    Thanks.

YES it means that after YOU use up ur 5 tries YOU need a cable to do
    the
    SIMunlock.

actually: not sim unlock it is network unlock sim lock is if you lock
    ur sim.

Thanks, I appreciate the time you've spent answering my posts.

No luck getting the phone unlocked using the codes...

How do I go about the cable solution? Is there a website I can read more
about how to get this done?

    Thanks.
