After all the angst connecting the 6340i to GSM usinf DLR-3p...
I tried installing a GENERIC modem on COM1...works like a champ...I'm
posting this message using the 6340i....
SLOW, but works for weather and email.
All the bull**** from Cingular & Nokia about special drivers, etc.
Try it and let me know.

Re: Connecting GSM SOLVED
Upon further testing:
The major issue seems to be the moden speed settings. IF you set max to
9600, even the Nokia Driver will work as will the GENERIC driver.
On my 7160, it didn't matter what the speed was set to, it connected (as
will 99% of modems).
On the PALM, it dosen't matter at all. No Init strings, speed max 115000, OK
SO, in retrospect, the Nokia tech rep and the Cingular Support rep. don't
know jack.
Requiring a "special" Cingular driver is not required.
