6310i + Nokia Softwware + Bluetooth

Hello

Why am I having so much trouble getting all this to work. I have tried it
on 3 different PC's inc. a laptop. On each I get different results, but non
of them work completely.

Looking through this NG it would seem I am not alone. Anyone got a fix to
make it all work?

looks like its free to TDK owners (time-limited demo and then pay otherwise)
but may work for others (even if it does cost). Haven't tried it yet myself,
but will do when my BT dongle arrives of there's trouble with PC suite.

Other than that, looks like you need;
1) Version 4.88 of PCsuite for 6310i (or later)
(http://nds1.nokia.com/phones/files/s..._Suite_488.exe).
2) Version 5.5 of the firmware on your 6310i (type *#0000# on your phone to
see what version you've currently got; update at nokia shop for free if
still under warrantee).
3) Widcomm Version 1.3.2.7 installed on your PC (if doing both of the others
above doesn't work).
4) A shedload of luck.

for it to connect successfully. As I say, haven't tried it myself as I'm
waiting for my dongle to arrive, but thats what I can gather from the
trawling of Google I've done.

You need the latest Bluetooth drivers for your Dongle/
You must connect to the PC Suite connectoid on the phone ( only in
firmware 5.5) or it won't work. You also need the updated 4.88
version of PC Suite, although I'm using version 5.02 (8910i pages)
with the phone editor from 4.81 cause I couldn't wait for Nokia to
pull their fingers out for 4.88.

Where do you get 5.5 of Nokia Suite? What process is required to upgrade the
Nokia itself?

The firmware can be upgraded to 5.5 at a Nokia service centre, free
if still in warranty, the PC Suite is on the nokia website, version
4.88 for 6310i on the 6310i support pages.
