I am new to Bluetooth, and wonder whether this is a common problem.
Basically the phone finds the headset every time if I go into the
phone's 'discover new devices' menu. But if the phone is turned off/on
it never discovers the headset, and if the headset it turned off/on it
discovers the phone only about half the time.
And this is where the phone and the headset are both made by Nokia!
Also does anyone have any idea as to how the battery life is affected
by having BT on all the time in the phone?
Peter.

Peter
I've got a 6310 (not i ) which i use on a HDW2 headset
Got to be honest, its a pain in the ass. It does nothing the same
twice. Sometimes is connects, some times not, but the biggest problem
is that although the icon is displayed, the phone indiscriminatly
looses connection with the head set. The only way to recover from this
is to turn the phone off and then back on again. It might go 2 minutes
or 2 hours before it does it again. Trouble is that you cant rely on
it. The phone rings, then you can't answer it becasue its froze:-(
My dealer says that the original 6310 software cant cope with the
technology of the HDW2. They have been supposed to have been coming
back to me with the cost to upgrade the software, or total upgrade to
a 6310i for the past 2 weeks, but haven't heard a word and been to
busy to chase them.
The battery life is definatly affected by running BT all the time. I
would say that it has reduced my battery life 30 to 40%
Let me know if you get this sorted.

So, in your experience, will this upgrade cure my problems?
