Can anyone help, I am trying to unlock my Nokia 5110, I have bought a Nokia
DCT-3 Unlock Cable Kit, downloaded Rolis v1.9 software, I have ran the
software as per instructions ’The Unlocksmith Guides’ and all appears to
have gone well, software says ’SP Locks updated successful’ and the
MCC+MNC, GID1, GID2 and MSIN box's all read Open, yet the phone will still
only work with my Vodaphone SIM card.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I am on ‘pay as you talk’ if that makes a difference.
Thanks.

5110 is a single band phone, so if it's on VOD, will only work with O2 (and
also virgin I think). A different phone set to work on orange would work on
Orange and T-Mob. 5110's come up fairly regularly on e-bay, for not a lot of
cash, so you might find it cheaper to buy a second hand phone than get a sim
card.

The 5110 is GSM900, ie, it works only on the 900Mhz frequency. Orange use
GSM1800. Voda or 02 are the only options for your 5110.

I was going to answer the same. For GSM1800 networks, you'll need a 5130.
Slightly obsolete (but still reliable, I used one since late July) phone,
you may get a 3210 (obsolete, but dual band) instead.

Re: Help! - Unlocking nokia 5110
5110 is 900 and works with O2 and Voda
5130 is 1800 and (Oranges locked phone) when unlocked does Orange, T-Mobile,
Virgin and O2 (using the 1800 frequency)
5146 was the One 2 One (now T-Mobile, locked phone) and when unlocked will
do the same as the 5130.
