Sumeet mentioned 'data suite', which I'm guessing is some
proprietary software used with data over Nokia phones. On
some (non Nokia) phones I have been able to make circuit-
switched data calls (~9600 BpS) without changing any
software because they emulated an ordinary Hayes-compatible
serial modem.
Do any (or all?) of Nokia's data-capable phones provide the
same convenient modem emulation for circuit-switched data
use?
I have read that it's possible to connect to some GPRS
phones using a serial cable (with the phone as the other end
of the PPP connection, rather than an ISP). If I understand
correctly this should also work without adding software. Do
any of Nokia's GPRS-capable phones work this way?
