    Hello nokia group,

    I'm a nokia newbie. I bought a 6100 handset a week ago, and there's a few
    things I'd like to know.
I'll apriciate you're advise in atleast some of the questions here:

    1) Is there a way to change the color of the font in the standby screen? If
I put a dark image, the black test cannot be seen.

    2) Is there a way to put a full screen caller group logo? If not, what is
    the maximum size in pixels?

    3) Is there a way to put a special "recieved SMS" tone for someone in the
phone book or for a caller group?

    4) Because I have a newer sim-card(I had him replaced), a 13th menu option
has poped. It's called "applications", and it contains some useless network
function. Is there a way to delete this option from the main menu?

    5) When I write text in t9 mode, isn't there a way to put carriage return
(line down) without exiting t9 mode?
Putting symbols is very convinient. You can either hold *, or press 1 and
then multiple *. But for line down you have to exit t9 mode, press 0 three
times, then enter t9 mode again! I think it would be best is you could put
a white space(0), and then press * a number of times to change the white
space into a line down mark. Do you think that if I contact nokia, they'll
put that function in a fireware update..?

    6) And another thing I don't get about text writing. In the symbol chart,
the last two symbols are little arrows that aprantly do nothing! Do they
    have some purpose?

    That's it.

Thank you very much in advance,

    Tal

What SW Version do you have? And what country do you live in?
Because I think there are different t9's for different counties.

My 6100 has SW4.70 with european languages and last two symbols in the symbol
chart are SPACE and carriage return/line feed.
And this works even with t9 activated!
About the other topics I have to think about it first.

    cheers,
    Norbert

Try holding down '*', then the left arrow key then 'Use'.

Space and guess what... Carriage Return.

Both do the job you'd expect them to do on my phone.
