Just how accurate is a speedometer anyway? Couldn't it be five MPH off from
the factory?

Quite easily, and this is something I really should have thought of before
making my previous comments. As a matter of fact, I went on a motorcycle
assessment ride today with a police officer following me on his bike,
assessing my riding. When we'd finished, he made various comments on my
riding (!) and asked if I always rode under the limit..! I replied of
course I do when appropriate (!) and he then told me that when I thought I
was riding at 60 mph according to my speedometer, I was actually doing
just over 50 according to his calibrated speedo. So the speedo on my bike
is actually reading 8 to 10 mph under what I thought it was..!
However, it's still not a good idea to thump a police officer <g>

Re: Nokia as a radar tracker
they have a correction here of 3 ks....so it would appear that I was
doing 58 instead of the ticketed 55...(and we are talking kilometeres
p hour).....anyways....I know that I often (too often for the bank) go
faster than the speed limits....but it's pretty pathetic here in the
Netherlands......they put radar traps ev everywhere....specially on a
warm sunny Sunday afternoon (yesterday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! dang I got
caught again!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ).......and then they sit by them
and read their books and watch the Euro's fly in!!)....have NO idea
what this one will be..but I think was doing about 140 in a 120...and
it's so stupid anyways....about 30 ks from here is the German
border...there on the Autobahn they DONT have speed limits...u can
really open up your car and zoom down....but as soon as you hit
Holland.....take the foot off the pedal and slow down to 120! We were
driving 185 (car wouldn't go faster) a few months ago and we were
constantly being overtaken you saw something out of the corner of your
eye....zooooooooooom, and it was gone...now thats FUN!!!!!!!
