Text Checking?

Is there some way of checking to see if the person you've sent a text to has
read it (other than asking them obviously)? I vaguely remember someone
mentioning that you can tell when it was read.

You can tell if they have received it on some networks as you get a report
back. But I don't know about actually reading it.....

Putting *0# before the text will generate a message on your phone
letting you know when it has been delivered to the recipient's phone Hope

Yes, through the Delivery report option (menu Messages / Parameters /
Common). Test I've run between my phone (5130 at this time) and my mum's
(Motorola v2288, on another network) proved me the delivery report comes to
you when the SMS reached the other terminal, not when it was read.
