unlocking a 6100 on Virgin?

Hello;

I'm trying to unlock a friends 6100 which is tied to Virgin.

None of the free DCT4 unlockers are working and he's confident that he's
paid a company for some codes and they didn't work either.

I have tried using MyKe's DCT4 calculator as I hear this has a special
calculator for Virgin phones, it does generate different codes to Locksmiths
for example, but the phone just says:

"Cannot Undo Restriction"

Any ideas?

but if a cable is purchased, can't it be unlocked via that method?

I had this problem unlocking a Virgin phone and had to take it to a
dealer ( mobile xtreme ) to be unlocked using a cable and some other
software. Danial Timms will tell you about it if you ask....
