Good plan... Nokia original equipment is much better quality than any
of the after-market stuff I've seen.

Not sure how you got that impression. Nokia list both the CARK-91
(Advanced HF Car Kit) and CARK-112 (Wireless Car Kit) as being
    compatible with the 6310i.

eBay or maybe car boot sales?

The kit doesn't support it, but you could splice the cables to the
cradle, "T" off them and fit an additional MBC-1 holder. Can't see it
causing an problem as long as you don't try to connect two handsets at
    the same time.

The HSU-1 handset only has a speaker and mic.

    exactly?

FYI, the BT carkit (CARK-112) can charge the phone (there is a lead to do
this from the handsfree kit). The advantage of the BT is that you don't
*have* to physically connect the phone (a bonus for me as I always forget
and leave the phone in my bag! :-) ).

    Re: CARK 91 Q's

I've been using a 6310i with a Cark 91 for over a year now. No problems at
    all, works perfectly.
